Baseline

So I believe this is my first post. Honestly, I've probably wanted to start my own blog for over a year now. I've followed many popular blogs for the past few years, some favorites being The College Prepster, Design Darling, and Gal Meets Glam, just to name a few. I have always toyed with the idea of creating a blog, watch it grow, learn things along the way, and honestly turn it into something successful. This is my first attempt at this dream.

But of course, there is always the issue of time. Not the right time, I don't have enough time, when I have more time, etc. I am a perfectionist, so I tend to procrastinate. There were so many things I was thinking to myself that prevented me from just sitting down and writing a post. The most prominent thought was "I don't have the resources right now to create a post and/or blog that will measure up to the blogs of these women that I read and look up to every day." These resources included a photographer, a cute outfit, a fun experience, or a pretty, perfectly HTML-coded page. These are some of the key elements of every successful blog out there. This thinking has prevented me from sitting down and getting started altogether! So today I decided to sit down and write my first post. It may be awful, there may be so many typos and it my not be aesthetically pleasing at all. But I have to start somewhere. I have to have something to work with. This is my baseline, and a baseline is necessary to improve. It is the reference point. I would love to see this blog grow and be pretty and be successful and live a colorful life like the lives of the bloggers I follow, but I have to start somewhere. So, if you are reading this, I do urge you to just start. If, down the road, my blog is successful and someone stumbles across this post, I hope this will be something that will encourage them to start doing whatever they have been wanting to do, even if it isn't perfect. EVERYONE starts somewhere. All you need is a starting point, a reference, a baseline. Start from your baseline, and go from there. This is my baseline.
